Terms and Conditions
Effective date: 2026-04-16
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Klear Phone app (the "Application") for mobile devices. By downloading or using the Application, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before use.
1. Intellectual Property
Unauthorized copying, modification, or distribution of the Application — including its source code, trademarks, and assets — is strictly prohibited. Attempts to reverse-engineer, translate, or create derivative versions are not permitted. All intellectual property rights remain the property of the Service Provider.
2. Account & Authentication
The Application uses Google Sign-In for authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and device. We strongly advise against jailbreaking or rooting your device, as such actions may compromise security features and cause the Application to malfunction.
3. Token System
3.1 Earning Tokens
Tokens can be earned through the following activities:
- Monthly plan allocation — depends on your subscription plan
- Watching rewarded ads — +1 token per ad (up to daily limit)
- Connecting the Klear Telegram bot — +1 token per month
- Subscribing to partner Telegram channels — varies per channel
- Inviting a friend (accepted invite) — +5 tokens
- Sharing your contacts for Global Caller ID — +5 tokens per month
3.2 Token Plans
- Free — 4 tokens/month
- Basic — 20 tokens/month
- Plus — 100 tokens/month
- Pro — 1,000 tokens/month
3.3 Token Rules
- Tokens are virtual credits with no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash or real-world goods.
- Your token balance resets to your plan's monthly allocation each billing cycle.
- Tokens are non-refundable under any circumstances.
- The Service Provider reserves the right to adjust token earning rates, limits, or feature costs at any time.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
4.1 Subscription Plans
The Application offers paid subscription plans (Basic, Plus, Pro) processed through Google Play Billing. Prices and billing periods (monthly or yearly) are displayed in the Application at the time of purchase.
4.2 Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Google Play account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then.
4.4 Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Google Play in accordance with their refund policy. The Service Provider does not process refunds directly.
5. Global Caller ID
5.1 Community-Powered Feature
The Global Caller ID feature is powered by contact data voluntarily contributed by Klear users. When you look up a phone number, you may see names contributed by other users.
5.2 Accuracy Disclaimer
The Service Provider does not verify the accuracy of community-contributed caller ID data. Results are provided for informational purposes only. The Service Provider accepts no liability for incorrect, misleading, or outdated caller identification information.
5.3 Contributing Contact Data
By choosing to share your contacts, you confirm that:
- You have the legal right to share the contact information of the individuals in your contact list.
- You have read and accepted the contact data terms in our Privacy Policy.
- Your contributed data may be used to identify phone numbers for other Klear users.
6. Who Viewed You — Search Visibility
When you use the Phone Lookup feature to search a phone number, that search is logged to power the "Who Viewed You" monthly report for the owner of that number.
- Your Google display name and profile photo are recorded unless you enable Private Search.
- Private Search (Basic+ feature): you appear as "Anonymous User" — your identity is never revealed to the searched person. Private searches still count toward their monthly viewer total.
- You can toggle Private Search directly on the Phone Lookup screen or in Settings → Privacy.
- Basic+ subscribers who receive the report see names, photos, and search times of non-private searchers. Free users see only the count.
7. Phone Lookup Feature
6.1 How It Works
The Phone Lookup feature allows you to search any phone number and receive information from multiple sources:
- Global Caller ID — community-contributed names (see Section 5)
- Google Places — publicly available business information associated with the number
- Telegram — publicly visible Telegram account information (name, username) linked to the number, where available
6.2 Spam Reports
You may submit a report about a phone number, including a reason (e.g., Spam, Scam), an optional comment, and an optional emoji. By submitting a report, you confirm that:
- The information you provide is accurate and submitted in good faith.
- You will not submit false, defamatory, or harassing reports.
- Your report may be displayed to other users of the Application.
The Service Provider reserves the right to remove reports that violate these Terms and to suspend accounts that abuse the reporting system.
6.3 Block Functionality
The Application provides an option to block phone numbers at the device level. The Service Provider does not guarantee that blocking will prevent all contact from the blocked number, as this depends on your device's operating system and carrier. An anonymous block count is recorded on our servers to surface safety signals to other users.
6.4 Accuracy Disclaimer
Results returned by the Phone Lookup feature are sourced from third-party providers and community contributions. The Service Provider does not verify their accuracy and accepts no liability for incorrect or outdated results.
7. Smart Call Suggestions
The Application includes a Smart Call Suggestions feature that analyzes your call log data locally on your device to surface contacts you may want to reach.
- On-device processing only — Call log data used for suggestions is never uploaded to our servers. All analysis happens entirely on your device.
- Interaction signals — When you call, send an SMS, dismiss, or rate a suggestion, that signal is stored locally to improve future suggestions. These signals are never uploaded.
- No third-party sharing — Suggestion data and feedback are not shared with any third party.
- You may disable Smart Call Suggestions at any time in the app's Settings.
8. Telegram Bot Integration
The Klear Telegram bot is an optional feature. By connecting it, you authorize Klear to receive basic Telegram profile data (first name, last name, username, language code) and to send you notifications via Telegram. You may disconnect the bot at any time.
9. Supporter Badges & Public Display
If you choose to support Klear through an in-app purchase:
- A supporter badge will be displayed on your profile within the Application.
- Your name (or "Anonymous" if you opted out) and badge may be displayed publicly in the app's Support Me section.
- You can choose to remain anonymous at the time of purchase. To change your display preference after purchase, contact dabalavay@gmail.com.
- Badges are cosmetic and do not grant additional app functionality beyond what is included in your subscription plan.
- Supporter purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or Google Play's refund policy.
10. Third-Party Services
The Application relies on third-party services including:
- Google Play Services
- AdMob
- Google Analytics for Firebase
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Google Play Billing
- Telegram
- Google Places API
The Service Provider is not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party services.
11. Internet Connectivity
Some features require an active internet connection. The Service Provider is not responsible for the Application not functioning due to lack of Wi-Fi or mobile data. If you use the Application outside your home region, your mobile provider's roaming terms and data charges may apply.
12. Service Availability & Changes
The Service Provider reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Application or any of its features at any time. Any new charges will be clearly communicated in advance. Continued use of the Application after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance.
13. Limitation of Liability
The Application is provided "AS IS." The Service Provider makes no warranties regarding the Application's fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of data, or uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service Provider is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Application.
14. Call Recording
Klear Phone includes an optional call recording feature powered by the Hust companion app.
- Local storage only — Call recordings are stored exclusively on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers.
- Legal compliance — Recording telephone calls may be illegal in your jurisdiction without the prior consent of all parties. It is your sole responsibility to understand and comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding call recording before using this feature.
- Consent obligation — By enabling call recording, you agree to notify all parties on a call that it is being recorded, wherever such notification is required by law.
- Liability disclaimer — The Service Provider expressly disclaims all liability for any unlawful use of the call recording feature, or for any claim, damage, or loss arising from your failure to obtain required consents.
